Stephen N. Barnes, Jr.

Stephen Barnes

Stephen is the owner and founder of the firm.  After graduating with honors from Vanderbilt University in 1994, Stephen worked with the Mississippi Center for Public Policy in Jackson, Mississippi as a Research Director, assisting legislators with research on a variety of issues affecting the families of Mississippi. This work, along with a passion for knowing the source of Law (capital "L"), spurred Stephen to apply to law school.

He attended the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, and graduated in 1998. After graduating, he married his lovely wife Christian and they moved to Macon, Georgia where Stephen practiced at two larger firms in the areas of business and corporate law.  In March of 2003, Stephen created Barnes+Law™, with the desire to help leaders develop their enterprises and meet their goals — with an entrepreneurial and covenantal flare.

Aggressive bulldog lawyering for the seriously injured.

Stephen and I have worked in tandem on corporate and business matters for over 20 years now. He is a long time personal friend and excellent lawyer. His firm has clients all over Georgia, Tennessee and beyond. I’ve referred him to many of my best corporate clients on issues I don’t handle, and all have appreciated his work.

While I spend my time working on matters with things ‘hit the fan,’ and strategizing through complex litigation matters; Stephen is there to help a company reduce the risk of litigation as much as possible.
